Here is everything to take care of before and after move-in day.

Why does the move-in report matter?

It is the baseline for your move-out inspection. Good photos now protect your deposit later.

Before move-in

  • Sign your lease and pay the deposit and first month in the portal
  • Set up utilities in your name (Idaho Power, Intermountain Gas, and your city’s water, sewer, and trash)
  • Get renters insurance with at least $[X] liability coverage
  • Set up autopay
  • Confirm your move-in time and how you’ll get the keys

First week

  • Complete the move-in condition report with photos within [5] days
  • Test smoke and CO detectors
  • Find the water shutoff, breaker panel, and furnace filter
  • Download the resident app and turn on notifications
  • Boise residents: read the City’s tenant rights notice (we send the link)

Can I paint or mount a TV?

Ask through the portal first. Most small changes are fine with approval.
